1990 to 2018

On October 9th of this year we all -- his family, friends, Merced Shakes, and the local arts community -- lost Garrett to brain tumor. He was a fierce and loyal friend, and a lover of life, music, sports, his dogs, and the theater.

For Merced Shakespearefest, he worked on sound, played the guitar, took videos, and most of all performed. In his first role he was the Wall in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. After that, he was Slender in Merry Wives of Windsor, Sir Aguecheek in Twelfth Night, Balthasar in Much Ado About Nothing, Rivers/Richmond in Richard III, Lorenzo in Merchant of Venice, and Kloten in Cymbeline. Whatever he did, he did it with fire and passion. He was rough around the edges, and had the biggest, kind heart!

We will miss him!
